Natural-finish cabins are supplied untreated, so apply a quality preserver or paint soon after assembly and re-coat regularly; factory-painted finishes just need an occasional re-coat. Your cabin will need a firm, level base — concrete, paving slabs or a timber frame. Browse more in our Log Cabins range at Oak & Outdoor.

Do I need planning permission for the Home Office Elite?

In most cases a garden building of this size falls under permitted development, but rules vary by location and property, so check with your local planning authority before you order.

Is it treated?

Choose a natural finish, supplied untreated and ready for your choice of preserver or paint, or a factory-painted Grey, Oak or White finish that only needs an occasional re-coat.

Does it need a base?

Yes. It needs a firm, level base such as paving slabs, concrete or a timber frame, as grass, soil or gravel will shift under the weight.

How is it delivered?

Shipped within 2 weeks with free UK mainland delivery. Once your order is ready, you'll be contacted to book a delivery day that suits you. Some remote postcodes may carry a surcharge, which is shown when you enter your postcode on this page. Log cabins can't be delivered to Northern Ireland (BT postcodes).

Further Information

Mercia Garden Products is one of the UK's largest and longest-established garden building manufacturers, crafting timber sheds, cabins, summerhouses and greenhouses in Britain since 1878. Every building comes with a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee as standard, plus a conditional anti-rot guarantee against timber decay — 15 years on pressure-treated buildings and 10 years on dip-treated buildings. To keep the anti-rot cover valid, apply a waterproof timber top coat once the building is installed and re-treat annually.

Mercia products are available for delivery within 10 days. You will be contacted to arrange a delivery date once your order is ready.

In most cases, delivery is free to UK mainland addresses. For full T&Cs, visit our delivery page.

Natural-finish cabins are supplied untreated — apply a quality preserver or paint soon after assembly and re-coat every year or two. Factory-painted finishes only need an occasional re-coat. Keep the roof covering sound and the base firm and level.
