The Fortis SIP Workshop Style B is a fully insulated garden building made from Structural Insulated Panels through the walls, roof and floor, so it stays warmer in winter and cooler in summer — ready for year-round use as a workshop, home office, studio or gym. Style B is the mirror-image layout of Style A, with the door in the opposite end wall and windows along the front — choose whichever suits where the building sits in your garden and how you approach it. Its slim 72mm walls give thermal resistance comparable to around 200mm of solid log walling, finished with an engineered LP SmartSide timber exterior supplied primed for your own colour, a Hi Pent EPDM rubber roof and a steel-reinforced uPVC door and windows in Anthracite Grey.

U-values are calculated centre-of-panel figures for each element, and the log-wall comparison relates to thermal resistance only. Install on a level, free-draining base with damp-proof isolation beneath the bearers and airflow under the floor, then complete the paint finish over joints, fixings and cut edges after assembly. What's the difference between the styles?

Only where the door and windows sit. Style A has the door in the end wall with windows along the front, and Style B is its mirror image. Style C has the door and a window on the front with solid end walls, and Style D is its mirror image. Style E centres the door on the front between windows and comes in 8x12 and larger. Construction and specification are identical across the range.

How warm will it be?

The walls, roof and floor are all Structural Insulated Panels with a graphite-enhanced EPS core, giving calculated centre-of-panel U-values of 0.50 W/m²K for the walls and 0.27 W/m²K for the roof. That makes it far easier to keep warm in winter and cooler in summer than an uninsulated timber building.

Do I need to paint it?

Yes. The LP SmartSide exterior is supplied factory primed, ready for a compatible exterior-grade paint in the colour of your choice. Panels can be rollered before assembly, with joints, fixings and cut edges finished once it is built.

Is electricity included?

No. The building comes without an electrical supply or wiring. If you need power, it must be installed by a qualified local electrician.

What base does it need?

A level, stable and free-draining base suited to the building size, with a damp-proof membrane beneath the pressure-treated bearers and airflow under the floor.

Supplied factory primed. Paint the exterior with a compatible exterior-grade topcoat, finishing all joints, fixings and cut edges to LP's instructions, and repaint periodically to keep it protected. The EPDM roof and uPVC door and windows need little more than an occasional clean. Keep the base free-draining and the airflow beneath the floor clear.
